For parents of a rising senior, it is important to begin looking at schools, analyzing the different elements, and deciding which ones are worth visiting; this can take a lot of their time and energy. The important advice high school seniors gave to parents was to listen closely and devise a plan to visit the post-secondary schools that seem most interesting to their rising seniors. Help them email or call to set up the visit, and then leave the rest to them.
One suggestion these young adults had was to keep a digital file for each school you look at, including a quick one-pager with all the pertinent information. Include pictures of the different areas you saw to help trigger your memory and remind you how you felt while visiting that campus.
